The ThinkPad Edge E220s measures less than an inch thick and weighs 3.5 pounds. It has an aluminum-magnesium lid with a matte finish, and a keyboard that looks similar to the one you’d find on other ThinkPad laptops — as well as Lenovo’s TouchPoint system.
The laptop will be available with a choice of Intel Core i3, Core i5, or Core i7 processors — although it doesn’t look like the Core i3 model will be available in the US. It supports up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 5400RPM or 7200RPM hard drive, or an 80GB or 128GB SSD. The laptop has a low light sensitive 720p HD webcam, VGA and HDMI ports, and 3 USB ports including one that is powered and one that can also be used as an eSAA port.
Lenovo offers integrated WiFi, as well as 3G and 4G/WiMAX options. The computer has VGA and HDMI output and Dolby sound. The Lenovo ThinkPad E220s measures 12.3″ x 8.4″ x 0.86″.
Lenovo has also introduced a larger model called the ThinkPad Edge E420s which has a 14.1 inch display and comes with additional options including AMD Radeon switchable graphics (in select markets) and a slot-loading DVD burner).
The ThinkPad Edge E220s will have a starting price of $799.
