The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid, combines a Windows-running laptop with an LePad tablet currently running Android 2.2. Whilst in the laptop mode the tablet only servers as the display for the laptop and when removed it becomes a Android tablet.
The tablet side of the device is powered by a 1.3 GHz Snapdragon processor and has a capacitive touchscreen and connects to the notebook with the use of a USB. Once attached to the laptop, a single button allows you to swap between laptop and tablet whilst connected and the tablet can be removed leaving the laptop running and then replaced later to carry on working in Windows where you left off.
Lenovo will be launching the new IdeaPad U1 Hybrid in China later this month for around $500 for the tablet and $1300 for the notebook side of the device. Once the IdeaPad U1 starts shipping worldwide the OS on the tablet will be upgraded to Android 3.0
